Hey folks!
Day 2 in Prague was a whirlwind of rehearsals, on-stage magic, and a dinner chat that spilled some choir origin tea.
Let me fill you in!
On-Stage Revelations:
Today was all about hitting the stage, perfecting the sound, and adding more dance moves to our repertoire.
Ever wondered what it's like to work with a click track in one ear while listening to the orchestra in the other?
It's like patting your head and rubbing your stomach simultaneously – a bit tricky, but oh so interesting!
Quick note for the curious minds: A click track is like a musical metronome that keeps us all in sync, ensuring we stay in harmony with the orchestra. It's like a secret musical guide whispering in our ears.
Conductor's Praise:
Our conductor, Gavin, shared some love, expressing amazement at how well we tackle diverse musical styles.
We're here beaming with pride – music is indeed a universal language!
Stage Tower Drama:
Rehearsing on stage brought its own drama – the choir will be in two metal towers, and the folks on top had one rule for us below: "Don't move a muscle!" Safety first, right?
Choir Origin Stories:
At dinner, we dived into the juicy backstory of how our choir came to be.
Ken, our visionary founder, got inspired by a group called Jubilate in the US.
He thought, "If they can do it, why not in Kenya?"
So, with the help of a friend, he put up posters, spread the word, and voila – the founding members came together in 2005.
Fast forward, and here we are, a choir family with over 100 talented individuals who've graced our ranks.
The journey has been nothing short of incredible!
Future Memoir Alert:
I'm considering compiling all these choir stories into a memoir. Interested?
